OUR WEDDING DAY MARCH 30, 2006

Our very special friends Sharon and Dave celebrating our special day with us.

Sharon and Dave were with us as we began our life together. (Ken later told me that he almost had to turn to Dave and ask if he was marrying the right person as he didn't have his glasses on, and he cannot see up close.) Ha! This began our life together laughing every day.

FEELS LIKE SPRING!

What a beautiful day yesterday was. It was around 70 degrees and very little wind. Ken did some tilling in the garden, washed two vehicles (with a little help from me), and then fired up the smoker and smoked some chicken breasts, pork, and sausage (great to have some in the freezer for future dinners). I opened up all the windows to let some fresh air in, turned on the fans, did some cleaning and laundry, etc. Then we were able to just be outside and enjoy the weather, watching the birds, and seeing some of the trees and flowers starting to bud. I know we still have some cold weather coming, but this was a great day!

Our other choice would have been to go play some golf. The next spring like day that we have, maybe we will do that.

FAMILY PICTURES

In 1967, the Lord blessed me with Greg, Gayla, Mark, and Kaye. They were ages 3, 5, 6, and 8 when their dad and I were married. Through the next 20 years, the Lord helped us through some difficult times as well as blessing us with many exciting, joyful, wonderful times. He filled me with a love for them that I cannot even begin to put into words. I thank God for bringing them into my life.

In 1981, we lost Kaye - our youngest at age 16. She is the one in the picture with her new guitar on her 16th birthday. There are no words to describe the devastation that brought to all of us. Although, we know and celebrate that she is in heaven with the Lord, and although the Lord is always with us when we lose someone we love dearly, sometimes He wants to work through others to help us through our time of grieving. Her dad and I did not get the counseling we needed after losing Kaye, and several years later our marriage was over. (I mention this in case anyone is reading this that has lost someone they love dearly. Don't just stuff things down inside and think they are taken care of. We are made to need and love one another, and so many times, God wants to work through someone to minister to us.)

Pictures are of Greg, Amy, Joey, and Taylor (current pictures of Joey and Taylor fishing in FL are in earlier post), Gayla and Kaye as young girls, Gayla and her son Christopher (and grandson Christopher as a young boy),and Mark with me. (I am needing a picture of Mark and Tami to include with this post.)
