This was quite an experience to be at the state Capitol for this special Rose Day Rally. It was a day to meet and visit with our state representatives and state senators, to give them each a rose, and to encourage them to vote pro-life if they do not already. Our state representative and state senator both happen to be pro-life, and we enjoyed our visit with each of them. I made this trip with people from my church, one of which is our next door neighbor who knows our representative and senator personally, along with many others.
We then went into the House of Representatives Chambers for the Rally. It was excellent. We were introduced to all representatives and senators who are pro-life in our state of Oklahoma. Then we had a guest speaker who had been through abuse, had more than one abortion, and had suffered other tragedies in her life. She had been totally devastated after each of the abortions although she had been told that it was nothing but a clump of cells. Later she realized after looking at a picture of her next unborn baby, that it was not just a clump of cells - it was a beautifully formed baby inside of her. She has come through much depression and devastation, and since that time has been helping others and supporting pro-life.
We had left home about 7:30 and arrived back home shortly after 5:00 PM, so it was a full day in more ways than one. I was thankful to have been privileged to have experienced it.
