"HAPPY 3RD ANNIVERSARY"

We had a fun day Monday, March 30th, celebrating our 3rd anniversary. Went to Tulsa and had a late lunch, early dinner at the Olive Garden.
Life is good. E-Harmony, you did a great job when you introduced us. Thanks!

Ken's favorite pass time - playing his guitar or piano. I enjoy playing the piano, too. We both enjoy music and laughing together.

ANGIE'S BAPTISM WEEKEND

Ken and Buster took care of each other while Nicky and I were in Kansas
Angie, what an answer to prayers for you since you were born. I am so happy that you and Luke have the Lord in your lives.

Ben is quite an athlete. This picture was taken in November 2008 and he just keeps getting better and better.

Blanche is so special. She and her husband Joe and son Randy lived across the street from us all through my junior high and high school years. They are like family to us.

I was able to see Onn again at her mother's restaurant. Thanks, Onn for such a special lunch while I was there. It was so good to see you.

Our mailbox and post had a rough night.

Sharon and Dave - Thanks for everything! Aunt Alice, Lisa, Al, and Teddy at Mother and Al's home. We had a great visit and dinner Friday night. Thanks so much, Al. This month would have been yours and Mother's anniversary. She is missed greatly, but we sure have wonderful memories.

Sharon and Nicky out on the deck enjoying the sun.

Family brunch after Angie's baptism. Angie, I was so thrilled to be there with you.

Sharon and I had fun with Ben and Jake at the Great Plains Nature Center (Thank you, Ben and Jake for all the great drawings you did for Uncle Ken and me. They are great. We love you.)

Jake and Trooper. Jake has also started playing the keyboard. He may just be our little musician in our family.

I made a trip to Kansas for a long weekend as my niece Angie was being baptised. Had a great visit with family and friends. Along with those in these pictures, I was also able to have a great visit with my friends Marsha and Nancy and also my cousins Polly and Merri while I was there. Ken was not so lucky, as back on the "ranch" different things went wrong. During the first part of my trip, Ken woke up one morning and our mailbox was gone. The post was broken off down to the ground and along with the mailbox had been drug down the road. As it was spring break, we are figuring some teenage cowboys must have gotten drunk and decided to be ornery. We still don't have a new mailbox up yet. Until we do, we will just have to pick up our mail at the post office.

Then the day I was driving home, we had a leak in the kitchen. Poor Ken, who hates plumbing, spent all afternoon until 6:00 that evening cleaning up the water and trying to repair our problem and of course had to make two
trips to Lowe's.

SPRING TIME CLEANUP AND PLANTING ON "OUR LITTLE ACRES"

Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday we cleaned in and around our canna flower beds and fish pond. The fish pond was quite a job, to put it mildly, and we still have a lot more to do. Also, did some more planting (tomatoes and peppers). Never run out of chores and/or projects around here. The trash company had a lot to pick up today.

SPECIAL FRIENDS ARE SO IMPORTANT

Sharon and Leslie at the Crown Uptown, Wichita, KS, June 30, 2005 . Dave, her husband was there that night, too. They took me out for my birthday.
We have been friends since we both worked at a television station in Wichita, KS, back in the late 1960's. I am truly blessed. Sharon is like a sister to me and has been there for me through thick and thin. I miss our lunches and our special times together, but we are only a phone call away. If you need me, I'll be there.
Marsha and I met when we were both in junior high school in Wichita. It was the summer we attended the National Traffic Safety Convention in Lawrence, KS. I was very shy, but with the help of Marsha and Cheryl, that weekend I began coming out of my shell. What a fun and memorable weekend that was. We went through high school together and then did not see each other for more than 30 years. What a blessing to have found you again, Marsha. You are so important to me.

Nancy and I went to church and high school together. Nancy, were you with us when we went to the church choir director's house one night and tp'd it? (I didn't normally do ornery things, but that night I sure did.) We also went 30 some years before finding each other again. I am so glad I moved back to Wichita after so many years away. Nancy, you are such a special lady and friend to me.

Fran and Leslie in Daytona Beach, June 30, 1999. We are sitting out on a balcony overlooking the beautiful ocean and beach. I met Fran in Bradenton, FL, in 1983. I lived in FL 15 years off and on (Bradenton, Arcadia, & South Daytona). We have had such special times together walking on the beach, meeting for breakfast or lunch, or just sitting on a boat out on the water discussing so many important things going on in the world or in each others lives. I miss you, Fran, and our times together.
I am looking for a picture of Jonee and Ruth. They have also been wonderful friends from my Florida years. We still keep in touch and always will.

"HAPPY DAY" GIFTS

Received these gifts yesterday from Onn and Jason (nephew)
They are special Thailand treats and gifts. If you click your mouse on the picture, you can see them up close and personal. The four cookies are butter coconut cookies/sweet crackers that have already been opened and put in our cookie jar.

This bluebird house was a gift from Butch last year.

The bluebirds are making a nest. If you look in the lower right corner, you will see one flying away to get more for their nest....at least this is what we are thinking as we enjoy watching them. Of course the bluebirds are our special gift
from the Lord.
We also did some more planting today in the garden. So far we have potatoes, onions, corn, green beans, yellow squash, and zucchini. Another great day.

OUR WEDDING DAY MARCH 30, 2006

Our very special friends Sharon and Dave celebrating our special day with us.

Sharon and Dave were with us as we began our life together. (Ken later told me that he almost had to turn to Dave and ask if he was marrying the right person as he didn't have his glasses on, and he cannot see up close.) Ha! This began our life together laughing every day.
